San Diego Museum of Art (image 1). I was awarded an exhibit of my neon abstract drawings done directly on 35 mm blank film in 1971. I was awarded the California Community College Circle of Honor Award two times, 2000-2006 from SRJC. During my primary school and high school years I was awarded San Diego City Schools summer studio art lessons for students 3 times. In elementary school one of my paintings was selected to be exhibited in Yokohama, Japan. It was a great honor to be awarded an $18,000 grant in 2006 from The Charles Lahm Family Foundation, SRJC Board of Directors, who paid my Student Loans in-full. I was the SRJC Poster Person and did Window Display. My art has been on the covers of a California educational magazine and on Literacy Head magazine. My art has been exhibited in 2 California Community College Galleries. My art prints were selected for curation on Etsy several times during the 2000s, where I sold prints of my drawings around the world while I was attending college.
DONATIONS and VOLUNTEER WORK:
I was part of a 5 woman team on Etsy. We raised $36,000 for Doctors Without Borders for Haitian Earthquake relief. I donated my art to an Australian Fire relief fund, and 36 prints for gifts to Wounded Warriors at Christmas. I was a Reader for the Blind for 1 year. I packed and delivered Meals On Wheels to seniors. I am proud to have donated my art prints to Out of Darkness mothers to help raise money for teenage crisis prevention auction.
My art work went completely on-hold in 2008 just as I had finished my college classes as my parents needed me to help my mother. In 2020 I hope to do much more to help others with my art talent once my new studio opens! Thanks for stopping by.
